Here's a podcast from NPR on the craziness at the NASA PR office. The Bush administration's hatred of science (because it contradicts many of the 18th century notions that many in the administration hold dear) often results in the administration putting poorly educated appointees in positions that regulate the flow of information by national science organizations. In this case the monitor installed by the Bush administration at NASA's PR office was found to have lied on his resume (big surprise)--he never graduated from college. And what was this man of great accomplishment doing at NASA? He edited press releases by eminent NASA scientists. Of course Global Warming took a hit--that's expected, but in one of the strangest incidents, this guy took out a reference to the Big Bang because of his religious beliefs! That's how your administration has been running NASA.
